Founding Members
Our thirteen founding members formed the Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN) in 2004, following discussions on how business skills and resources can be harnessed for greater social impact.
The consensus was that combining efforts would be far more effective in addressing some of the key issues facing the community.
Some of the founding members' organisations already had community programs in place, and the ABCN programs offered a wonderful opportunity to supplement and complement their existing programs.
Each of the founding members committed to being personally involved in a 12-month program and, where possible, involve volunteers from their companies in programs running from 6 to 12 months. This means that our founding members have first-hand experience of the development and implementation of the programs.
