VIC School Profiles

The majority of schools ABCN work with are in the Northern suburbs with more schools emerging in the Western suburbs.

Many of the schools operate within communities that are characterised by high levels of inter-generational unemployment.

Many have low average household incomes and low levels of educational attainment.

The communities have rich cultural diversity, with many students having parents or grandparents for whom English is a second language, and a number of newly arrived to Australia families.

In 2008 ABCN is running GOALS and Spark pilot programs in four high schools and up to 8 primary schools.
