Success Statistics

In 2008, ABCN expanded the reach of its activities to be working with 29 member companies, over 100 schools in areas of high social need, involving over 3,500 students and over 2,000 company volunteers working in sustained programs nationally as well as a number of pilot programs.

InterAct Arts Experience

In 2008 over 700 students have participated nationally in experiences such as:

  • The Sydney Writers' Festival in New South Wales
  • Paradise City’ by Performance Space held at Carriageworks in New South Wales
  • 'VX18504' performance by the Australian Theatre for Young People in New South Wales
  • Rogue Traders concert in Queensland
    Performances by Bell Shakespeare Company in Western Australia

The students from Hoxton Park High School in New South Wales who attended the Sydney Writers' Festival said: "We gained knowledge as well as enjoying the time we had. The writers inspired us to be creative and helped us to understand that creativeness is a great way to become a professional writer."
