ABCN wins two Global Best Awards

ABCN has won two Global Best Awards for the Australia and Oceania region for the Focus Women’s Leadership and ParraNormal programs.

Initiated by Minter Ellison Lawyers, Focus was piloted in 2012 to offer leadership development to female students. It quickly expanded with 29 programs running across Australia in 2013 – and there are now more than 35 scheduled in 2014. The popularity and demand for this program combined with outstanding feedback and evaluation results, demonstrate real need for a young women’s leadership program of this type. We are proud that our newest core program has already gained such recognition with this award.

ParraNormal was funded by J.P. Morgan and run in partnership with the Information & Cultural Exchange (ICE) as part of the Parramatta Now project – a series of programs aimed at creating new opportunities for young people in Parramatta in the areas of community engagement, literacy and access to the arts. The 12-week program provided a group of talented young graphic designers, writers and musicians aged between 16 -24 the chance to be mentored by professionals in their chosen fields. The program led to some exceptional creative, community and employment outcomes, and the resulting work was showcased at a live event in Parramatta. The work can also be viewed online at www.ice.org.au/parranormal.

The Global Best Awards are presented biannually by the International Education Business Partnership Network (www.iebpn.net). With these regional awards, ABCN is once again in the running for the Overall Global Best Award in Business Education Partnerships, which we won in 2012.

We’d like to say a big thank you to all our partner schools, companies and other partner organisations for making these programs so successful.
