Who is eligible to apply? 

To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:  

• Be enrolled in an Australian government school and studying in Year 10 at the time of application.  
• Be commencing Year 11 in the first year of the three-year Scholarship.  
• Demonstrate an intention to undertake full-time or part-time study at a university, college, or registered training organisation (RTO) during the first year following completion of high school.   
• Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. 

Students must be nominated by their School Principal or Senior school teacher. Applicants should review the program Terms and Conditions before applying. 

The scholarship provides assistance to students including:  

• Up to $7000 amortised over 3 years for educational expenses such as: 

• Tuition or course fees 

• Learning resources and equipment 

• Technology resources 

• Other education-related expenses 

Specific inclusions are outlined in the scholarship expenses guidelines. 

In addition to financial assistance, scholarship recipients receive: 

• Mentoring support throughout the three-year Accelerate program, provided by ABCN network of corporate members 

• Access to workshops and skills-building programs, career development opportunities and networking events 

Applications are submitted online. Application steps are as follows:  

1. School Nomination submitted and application link sent to student 
2. Student application submitted 
3. School reference submitted 
4. Completed application assessed by assessment panel 

Applications are assessed against clear criteria, which includes: 

• Demonstrated commitment to education  
• Demonstrated willingness to engage with a mentor 
• Potential for future success 
• Personal circumstances and barriers faced 
• Leadership, community involvement, or extracurricular achievements 

Selection decisions are made through a fair and transparent assessment process. 

Yes, however, applicants should disclose any current scholarships or financial assistance, as this may be considered during the assessment process. 

Applicants will be notified once the assessment process has been completed.
